New Ferrari GTC4 Lusso T unveiled in Australia

The new GTC4 Lusso T is the first Ferrari vehicle which will run on the V8 engine and will have four seats. After the global debut at Paris Motor Show in September, the new model has just been revealed in Sydney, Australia. Adding another member to Ferrari family, alongside the GTC4 Lusso with V12 engine and all-wheel-drive, the new vehicle will have rear-wheel-drive and will be placed above California in the up-to-date Ferrari hierarchy.

Just like Ferrari 488 GTB, 488 Spider and California T that is priced at $409,888, the new model will have the latest Ferrari’s 3.9-litre turbocharged V8, and the buyers will have to pay $503,888 to own it. The top speed of the car will be 320km/h while it will be able to accelerate to 100km/h in 3.5 seconds. The maximum power of this V8 unit is 449kW at 7500 rpm with the torque of 750Nm between 3000 and 5250 rpm. On the other side, the California T has 415kW and 755Nm of torque which enables it to reach 100km/h in 3.6 seconds with a maximum speed of 315km/h.

This version has rear wheel steering which goes along with Side Slip Control that is intended for sharper response to steering inputs for increased agility and easier maneuvering driving around town. Ferrari expects that the new model might be used on a daily basis, if you want to pick up your child from school, go on a shopping run or drive it on a night out.

Ferrari wanted to improve the low-speed performance so the new model now features Boost Management system which should eliminate turbo lag, thus increasing throttle response. The vehicle also applies variable torque curves between third and seventh gear providing progressive acceleration through the rev range.

The interior is a mix of latest technology and many details made by hand. The cabin is heaven for the driver and front passenger since it features the company’s exclusive Dual Cockpit architecture. The infotainment system which is also top notch has a 10.25-inch HD capacitive touchscreen.

According to Herbert Appleroth, Ferrari Australasia CEO, the new member of the Ferrari family will undoubtedly beat the competition among traditional high-end GTs. Appleroth also expects that the owners of extravagant SUVs may be interested in this new Ferrari vehicle because of its hatchback-style versatility.

“Buyers for our new Ferrari GTC4 Lusso T will likely be coming from the GT segment, mainly from British marquees like Aston Martin and Bentley, which have tended to dominate that space and are looking to step up to the next level.”

“But I think also from the luxury SUV market. Those that want the combination of practicality and drivability, but may have had enough of the SUV space, which is now more crowded than ever”, Appleroth stated.

Ferrari is already taking orders, but owners will have to wait until 2018 to take the Ferrari GTC4 Lusso T for the first drive. We have here the technical specifications of the new model.
