Car companies have worked with Hollywood since early days, and they displayed their latest models in the movies. We are reminded of this by seeing the Lexus LC 500 in Black Panther, a film which is setting box office records. Furthermore, James Bond name is closely related to Aston Martin, and even though the character has been seen in multiple vehicles over the decades, it is Aston Martin that we think of when we talk about the secret agent. Below, you can see some examples of the best car product placements in the movies.

Subaru in Portlandia is spot-on! What car could ultra-liberal stereotypical character drive? Japanese carmaker did an excellent job of showcasing cars in Portlandia. For instance, they managed to showcase the Impreza in several episodes, but there is also a web video series which displays the Subaru models launched by IFC. What is great about their placement in Portlandia is the fact that the brand is popular in the northwest region of the country. That is why we love to see various Subaru models here.

6. Audi R8 in Iron Man

The Audi R8 is the perfect car for the man called Tony Stark. Mr. Stark, better known as Iron Man has style and money to drive this gorgeous supercar. Audi has done an excellent job marketing this model, but the R8 is not the only vehicle Iron Man drives.

5. Acura NSX Roadster in The Avengers

Seeing Tony Stark behind the wheel of the Acura NSX Roadster concept car makes perfect sense. It appears that every supercar is suitable for Iron Man and this Acura looks fantastic. It has an aggressive design, and the good thing is that most of the concept’s features are kept on the production model. How cool is that to see the NSX in The Avengers?

4. Audi RSQ in I, Robot

The Audi RSQ is one of a kind vehicle, specifically made for the purpose of the movie. Audi’s front grille is iconic, whereas the entire car is futuristic, but it is completely in tune with the film. Will Smith looks good in the RSQ and the German company product placement boss Tim Miksche said in 2004: “Product placement is an integral part of our communication strategy. We don’t pay cash to obtain product placements. We supply one or several cars for the actual shooting, and if necessary offer the film crew logistical and technical support.”

Transformers wouldn’t be the same without the black-and-yellow Chevrolet Camaro that turns into Bumblebee. A few vehicle can transform like the Chevy, and despite the fact that there were plenty of cars in the Transformers, everyone is familiar with the Camaro. Somehow, it managed to steal the spotlight and become an iconic and irreplaceable part of the franchise.

Seeing the Ford Fusion in New Girl only confirms the fact that you can advertise the car and highlight the product in the right way, but still have fun. Product placement happens all the time, and we are fine with the Fusion in a TV episode of a popular show.

One of the purposes of Aston Martin’s existence is to produce vehicles for James Bond. And although Bond was driving the BMW Z3 for some time, it is not the vehicle meant for him. In Casino Royale, Daniel Craig drives the Aston Martin DBS, which, of course, gets totaled at one point in the film. Until that happens, the DBS is as big a star as the person behind the wheel.
