Every year at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas we can see some impressive pieces of technology. Same is the one that is currently in progress where Genovations GXE was presented. This is an electric vehicle that is based on Chevrolet Corvette and here is the list of things that have been changed.
7. Exterior Changes
When we compare Genovation GXE and the vehicle that it is based on, it is clear that not many changes are offered on the exterior. The front fascia is new and brings LED lights that are nicely integrated. At the back, we have wing spoiler and huge diffuser. Unique carbon fiber wheels are hiding Brembo carbon ceramic brakes promising top performances in any conditions.
6. Paint Job
Vette is a mass production sports car, and you definitely can’t expect out of this world paint job on it. Genovation is there to help you out with this as you are getting “up to 15 individual coatings of paint to ensure a deep, durable and sustainable finish.” It is also said that you can have your new vehicle with bespoke color which will definitely result in more unique appearance.
5. Interior Changes
The company that modified Corvette didn’t miss the opportunity to have few things changed inside the cabin. Leather and Alcantara upholstery will impress you with the quality while the Harman audio is combined with a new infotainment system that you can use to play your favorite tunes.
4. Electric Powertrain
Even we still do not have official information about powertrain that Genovation will pack “under the hood” of this vehicle we could hear them saying that the car will bring “state-of-the-art batteries, inverters and electric twin-motors.” Our expectations are for this model to offer insane 800+ hp or 596 kW and 700 lb-ft of torque that translates to about 948 NM.
This is yet another segment that will definitely surprise you. With a huge amount of power and torque that is immediately available you will need less than 3 seconds for 0 to 60 mph sprint. On top of that, top speed of more than 220 mph (354 km/h) is something we are not used to seeing from electric cars.
Electric vehicles are still limited with the battery technology that is currently used. Even it is top of the line tech, this is again a limiting factor and a thing that can persuade buyers to opt for gasoline or diesel powered car. With Genovation GXE you will be able to cover about 175 miles or 281 km on a single charge. Expect these numbers to significantly fall if you decide to push it hard.
Vette is not the cheapest choice to begin with as you will need slightly above $56,000 for the base version, and when the Genovation get’s their hands on one of these it will end up at incredible $750,000. Good thing to know is that only 75 units will be made so you will be getting quite a unique vehicle. Deliveries should start later this year.
