7 Supercars Faster Than an F1 Car (2018)

There isn’t a single soul on earth that doesn’t want to become an F1 car driver. But to become one, there are just too many hoops one must jump through, and for some that just might be unacceptable. Those that have a lot of money can simply opt for a way easier path, which surprisingly, allows you to go even faster than the F1 car driver.

Yes, I am talking about buying a supercar that is actually faster than the Formula 1. The F1 speed record was set at 231 MPH in 2016 by a Williams FW38. The next seven supercars you will see are faster than it, and we have arranged them in order from the “slowest” to the current top-speed champion. Enjoy!

7. McLaren F1 – 240 MPH

McLaren is famous for making cars that are all about pure and utterly raw performance. The McLaren F1 is made out of the basically same exotic materials as the formula, and it relies on the power from the BMW sourced V12 engine producing 627 HP.

6. Bugatti Veyron – 250 MPH

In this day and age, it is, perhaps, easy to build a car that goes like a rocket but to create one reliable as Bugatti is very difficult. The Veyron is the feat of the best engineers that the Volkswagen Group had to offer, and it boasts with a magnificent W16 engine that produces 987 HP that helped it reach a world record top speed of 253.8 MPH in 2005.

5. SSC Ultimate Aero – 256.1 MPH

This one managed to dethrone the Bugatti Veyron just two years after it set the world record top speed. In 2007 SSC Ultimate Aero maxed out at 256.1 MPH thanks to its 6.4 L V8 engine that produces 1.183 HP and sends them to the rear wheels. There is one more thing that makes this rocket even more fierce – it doesn’t have ABS or traction control at all.

4. Bugatti Chiron – 261 MPH

Bugatti isn’t giving up on this fight, and their latest attempt at the record is the Chiron that, according to Bugatti, is capable of going over 261 MPH. The only thing that is keeping this rocket in the garage and away of a world speed record attempt is the fact that it doesn’t have appropriate tires that can withstand the huge heat that is produced when pushed to top speed. Did I mention it has a 1.479 HP?!

3. Bugatti Veyron Super Sport – 268 MPH

While the Chiron sits and waits for tires that can withstand its top speed, the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport is keeping the Bugatti in the game with the max speed of 268 MPH. The Super Sport also brought some debate over the record set in 2010, and it was regarding the electronic speed limiter it had for safety. According to the record officials, that speed limiter did not count as a modification.

2. Hennessy Venom GT – 270.49 MPH

Another American supercar made this list and, believe it or not, it is nearly 40 MPH faster than a Formula One car. Its record top speed was 270.49 MPH and it brought the Hennessy Venom GT to the second place on this list. The Venom GT is powered by a twin-turbocharged 427 cu in (7.0 L) GM LSX engine that can produce 1.244 HP and 1,155 lb-ft of torque.

1. Koenigsegg Agera RS – 277.8 MPH

The ultimate champion of this list is none other than Koenigsegg Agera RS which is officially the world’s fastest car with a verified top speed of 277.8 MPH. The next impressive thing (if this speed thing doesn’t float your boat) is the fact that the Agera RS does 0-249-0 MPH in 36.5 seconds.
