2017 Honda CR-V starts production in Ohio

Ohio will be the place where the fifth-generation CR-V will be manufactured for the first time for the entire world. The factory in Ohio will be in charge of the developing processes and selecting tooling intended for the production of the 2017 Honda CR-V. The new vehicle will be built in 10 different factories across the world.

“This is the first time a Honda plant in the U.S. has led the mass production efforts for a global model,” the officials of the company stated.

The vehicle will be manufactured in three factories in North America which include the factory in Greensburg, Indiana and the assembly plant in Alliston, Ontario. Honda is only moving forward, and the launch of the next-generation CR-V was not due to fourth-generation drop in sales. In fact, the demand for the fourth-generation CR-V is up by 4.4 percent in the last month in the U.S. and 1.8 percent for the first ten months of 2016.

The new vehicle will feature modernized styling with which Honda wants to keep up with its other cars like HR-V and tenth-generation Civic. The cabin features higher-quality materials, and the infotainment system is up to date along with assistance technology making this compact sport utility vehicle better than the previous model.

Two engines will be available to customers, a 1.5-liter turbocharged powerplant and a 2.4-liter naturally aspirated mill. With four million units sold since 1997, the Honda CR-V has the title of the best-selling SUV in America over the past 20 years.
